Institute of Marine Biology of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine (Odesa, Ukraine) is a leading research institution dedicated to fundamental and applied studies of marine and coastal ecosystems of the Black Sea region. Founded in 1953 and reorganized as an independent institute in 2014, it conducts interdisciplinary research on marine biodiversity, ecosystem functioning, and environmental change. The Institute develops scientific foundations for monitoring marine ecosystems, assessing biological resources, and improving environmental management and conservation. Its scientists actively participate in international research projects and collaborations aimed at advancing sustainable use and protection of marine and coastal environments.
