Between 12–14 November 2025, the partners of the project Invasive Alien Species Observatory and Network Development for the Assessment of Climate Change Impacts and Contextual Ecosystem Services Evaluation in Black Sea Deltaic Protected Areas, IASON+ BSB00174, met in Kavala, Greece, for a working meeting hosted by PP4 – Democritus University of Thrace (DUTH).
The main objective of the meeting was to evaluate the project’s progress, to harmonise activities among partners, and to strengthen the methodologies used for monitoring invasive alien species (IAS) and ecosystem services (ES) in protected deltaic areas across the Black Sea Basin.
The agenda covered a wide range of scientific and operational topics, and the event concluded with the official Steering Committee Meeting, followed by a field application in Nestos Delta and Lake Vistonida.
Through scientific collaboration and international exchange of expertise, the IASON+ project continues to contribute to the protection of deltaic ecosystems and to improving the capacity to respond to pressures generated by invasive species and climate change in the Black Sea Basin.
